Former IPS officer Y.P. Singh on Saturday said 'Ramcharitmanas' depicts India's culture and does not promote any religion.

" Tuslidas's 'Ramcharitmanas' depicts India's culture and does not promote any religion. AIR started playing the main recordings of the music and gradually it was played at radio stations across northern India. Seeing the popularity now, it has been digitized and will be available in the form of a CD," Singh told ANI.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said earlier in the day that the digital version of Tuslidas's 'Ramcharitmanas' will help people around the world know more about Indian culture and its traditions.

Speaking at the launch of the digital version of Tuslidas's 'Ramcharitmanas', Modi said, "This digital version of 'Ramcharitmanas' will be useful to people around the world who want to know more about Indian culture and its values. In the coming days people of Bhopal will be organizing World Hindi Diwas. The delegates from around the world should be given this(digital version of 'Ramcharitmanas' )as a gift.
