Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev on Saturday lauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi's governance and urged Congress president Sonia Gandhi to join the International Yoga Day celebrations at the Rajpath.

Ramdev said Prime Minister Modi is running the governance in the country with focus and sanctity describing his rule as raj yoga.

"I would like to request from this stage that honourable Sonia Gandhiji should accept Modi ji 's invitation and join the International Yoga Day celebrations at Rajpath," said Ramdev.

"Mahatma Gandhi ji, Nehru ji, Indira ji all did yoga, even Soniaji did yoga to get well when she was ill," he added.

Highlighting the benefits of yoga, Ramdev said one should give equal importance to every aspect of yoga.

"Where there is focus and sanctity, that aspect of life is yoga. If we are doing farming with focus and sanctity then it is krishi yoga. If we are doing our office work with focus and sanctity then it is karma

yoga," he added.

The yoga celebrations are being organised after the United Nations had in December last year declared June 21 as International Yoga Day, with seven countries voting in favour.

The proposal was mentioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his address to the UN General Assembly last year.
