Rani Mukerji promotes her movie 'Mardaani' in Mumbai

Rani Mukerji recently promoted her upcoming drama film 'Mardaani', along with director Pradeep Sarkar and script writer Gopi Puthran in Mumbai.

'Mardaani', which means manly, revolves around a senior police inspector, played by Mukerji, who unearths a human trafficking racket. While promoting the movie, she said that the film was relevant in today's times and after watching it, every woman will feel empowered.

"We were very inspired to make this film. That is why we got together to make a film like this. It could have been any other story but I think this is a story that touched all our hearts. I think its something that we all somewhere feel that it is relevant in today's times", the 36-year old actress said.

 

Mukerji added "It is actually very small effort from all our sides to actually give a film which I think all women when they see the film, they will feel like a 'Mardaani' (manly), they will feel powerful, they will feel inspired they will feel spirit in and I feel if we achieve even that much it will be really great for us."

The film is produced by Aditya Chopra and is scheduled to release on 22nd August 2014.
