US rapper Pharrell Williams, whose video for his new single 'Blurred Lines,' with Robin Thicke and T.I., was banned from YouTube in March for featuring three nearly nude models, said that in his view, the clip did not objectify women.
The 40-year-old singer told Rolling Stone that they were just trying to make a moving version of a page in Vogue, where people might see a woman's breast, the New York Post reported.
He said that the body is not meant to be objectified.
Williams asserted that he knows that the video caused controversy, but his admiration for women supersedes anything that he could ever say.
He added that everyone has come through the conduit of the bodies of beautiful women.
