Spanish club Real Madrid has confirmed to agree a world record fee for Welsh striker Gareth Bale, but they only want to pay 20 million pounds up front.

According to the Mirror, Spurs chairman Levy will push for better terms than the installment plan Madrid are hoping for, with the Spanish giants aiming to spread their massive 100 million pound transfer outlay across several seasons.

Tottenham are close to conceding defeat in their attempt to hold on to superstar Bale and chairman Daniel Levy will hold final talks with Madrid president Florentino Perez in Miami this week, the report said.

Bale has already started looking ahead to life in Spain and has even made plans to take a childhood friend with him to help him settle, the report added.

A source close to Bale said that there was no secret that the player wanted to play for Madrid but he was a shy lad and even though he intends to bring a friend with him, he knows it would not be mentally easy.
