Peskov said that the President Putin was aware of John's popularity, adding that the Russian President was ready to meet with him and discuss any question that interests him in the future, The Guardian reports.
Earlier, the 68-year-old musician claimed that President Putin called him and the two will meet to discuss LGBT rights in Russia.
Rejecting John's claim, Peskov had said that the president did not have a conversation with Elton John and they had not received any requests from him for a meeting.
Later, it was revealed that two Russian comedians played a 'harsh prank' on the musician in a telephonic conversation.
