Shahbaz Taseer, the son of slain Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer who was rescued from his Taliban kidnappers after five years, departed for Lahore on Wednesday to reunite with his family.
Taseer is being flown to Lahore in a special aircraft by intelligence officials, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), reports the Dawn.
Balochistan Inspector General Ahsan Mehboob said Tuesday that Shahbaz was recovered from a hotel on the outskirts of Kuchlak town.
Shahbaz was abducted at gunpoint from the Gulberg area of Lahore on August 26, 2011.
After his recovery, Shahbaz was shifted to Quetta.
Anwar Kakar, a spokesperson for the Balochistan government, told Dawn that Shahbaz was found to be in good health, physically and mentally.
