The newly-appointed Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) chief, Uttam Kumar Reddy, on Monday said that his main priority would be to strengthen the party's base in Telangana.
"My main priority will be, from village-level upwards, to strengthen the party base and to form party committees in every village in Telangana," he said.
Reddy also thanked Congress president Sonia Gandhi and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi for considering him apt for the post.
"I would like to thank our honorable Congress president Shrimati Sonia Gandhi ji and our vice-president honourable Shri Rahul Gandhi ji for having placed confidence in me," said Reddy.
"I consider it a privilege. And I am rather fortunate that there are crores of Congress workers in this Telangana street and I have an opportunity to serve them now," he added.
