Released Pakistani prisoners, who had been languishing in Indian jails for trespassing into the country's soil, have returned to their homeland.

The prisoners had been detained in India, mostly on charges of militancy and cross-border trespassing.

"There were charges of border crossing that we trespassed from Jammu. A case of militancy was put, but there is no case right now. For the past two years, we were free after being released, but still they were not letting us go. The Supreme Court had intervened. Under the orders of Supreme Court now the situation has been a bit relaxed," said Soyail Malik, a Pakistani prisoner.

Almost, all the detainees, who had been languishing in the Indian jail for more than a decade, had mixed feelings at their release from the Indian soil.

"We are happy and sad, because, there are a lot of other men who are stuck here. Their cases have ended, but still neither Pakistan is ready to accept them nor does India want to release them," said Mir Ahmed Balloch, a Pakistani prisoner.

Recently, Pakistan released 362 out of 365 Indian fishermen.

The elated fishermen who had been jailed for trespassing into Pakistan's territorial waters crossed over at the Wagah Border post in Punjab.
