Draper Republican Rep. Greg Hughes has reportedly come up with a proposal to set up breathalyzers in Utah bars to help bargoers decide whether they are sober enough to drive.
Hughes's proposal, while still in its primary stage, is said to control incidents of drunk driving.
The Republican said that the measure won't require any bar to install the testing devices, but it would ensure that businesses aren't held responsible for customers who fail a breath test but decide to drive anyway, Fox News reported.
Hughes said that it made good sense to set up machines alongside pool tables and juke boxes would especially help younger drinkers who are still learning their limits.
