Rescue operations underway for six-year-old who fell in borewell in Bagalkot

Rescue operations are on in full swing to save the six-year-old boy who had fallen inside a borewell in Karnataka's Bagalkot district.

The boy reportedly fell on inside a 350 feet deep borewell on August 3 that was dug fifteen days ago.

A local resident Suresh told ANI, "All the rescuers reached the spot within 30 minutes of the incident for immediate action, the rescue work is still going on and according to them the boy is stuck 180 feet inside."

"The boy slipped inside the borewell as he had mistakenly gone near it while trying to show his cousin that there is no water in the borewell. The local residents tried to pull him with a rope but unfortunately he fell deeper," he added.

 

An official present at the side assured that the authorities are putting in all efforts to save the child as the government is vigilant and very active to get him alive out of the borewell.

Another official from child welfare program expressed sorrow over the incident saying that the government has already given directions to take care of these things. They are spreading awareness about this but we need to spread more awareness.
