England bounced back from a shaky start to claim a three-wicket victory over reigning world champions India in what was virtually a semifinal contest of the Mid-Carlton Tri-series at Perth.
Chasing a paltry target of 201, England batting order collapsed like a pack of cards as they were 66-5 at one point of the game. However, a robust sixth wicket partnership of 125 runs between James Taylor (82) and Jos Buttler (67) steadied the sinking ship to achieve the target with 19 balls to spare.
Stuart Binny was the pick of the bowler for India as he captured the crucial wickets of Joe Root (3), skipper Eoin Morgan (2) and Ravi Bopara (4) in quick succession.
Put into bat, Indian batsman had struggled to find a crucial partnership after Ajinkya Rahane (73) and Shikhar Dhawan (38) contributed a first wicket partnership of 83 runs.
James Taylor was declared the Man of the Match for his rock-solid performance.
England will now face Australia in the final at the same venue on Sunday.
Eoin Morgan's side have lost both of their games against the hosts in the tournament.
