Actor Varun Dhawan has welcomed the Rajasthan High Court's verdict on Salman Khan's 1998 chinkara and blackbuck poaching cases.

The actor, who was in the national capital to promote his upcoming film 'Dishoom', said, "I think the law has to take its course and this is court's judgment. We have to respect it, and I stand with it."

John Abraham and Jacqueline Fernandez on the other hand remained tight-lipped on the issue.

The Rajasthan High Court on Monday acquitted Salman Khan in the poaching cases.

Khan was reportedly not present in the court when the verdict was announced.

Khan had earlier appealed before the high court, challenging a lower court's verdict that had sentenced him one and five years of imprisonment respectively in the two poaching cases.

The poaching incidents took place when Salman Khan was shooting for 'Hum Sath Sath Hain' in 1998.
