A retired French postman has recently provided a new theory that provided a deeper insight into how Egypt's pyramids were built.

Amateur Egyptologist Norman Michel Michel has been working on the theory for 40 years and says a series of ramps and sleds loaded with stones were used to create the ancient wonders of the world, the Mirror reported.

Michel Michel said that his method was based on a system of ramp and it was adapted to the pyramids of all sizes, which were simple, intuitive, economical, robust and easily verifiable.

He further added that the stone ramps themselves were then used as part of the construction and this was how the pyramids ended up being so smooth.

Over the years there have been many theories about how the pyramids were built like they were constructed from the inside out, by piling up rubble and adding bricks later.
