Ridley Scott is reportedly in talks to direct Matt Damon in a 20th Century Fox outer space adventure project 'The Martian.'
The 77-year-old director will be replacing Drew Goddard, who wrote the script for the film before leaving the project for Spider-Man spinoff 'Sinister Six', the Hollywood Reporter reported.
The movie is based on the book 'Martian' by Andy Weir and centers around an astronaut who is trapped on a Martian colony while NASA tries to mount a rescue mission on Earth.
Scott will also be producing the film along with Simon Kinberg and Aditya Sood.
