Several right wing groups assembled at Panvel today to commemorate the 66th death anniversary of Nathuram Godse, the man who assassinated Father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi on January 30, 1948.
According to reports, members of the Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Sena, Maharana Pratap Battalion and Sanatan Sanstha took part in the event.
They organized a program called 'Shaurya Diwas' to commemorate Godse.
Some of these groups reportedly celebrate Godse's death anniversary on November 15th throughout Maharashtra every year.
Godse was hanged on November 15, 1949 following his conviction.
