Rio de Janeiro (Brazil), Aug. 13 (ANI): Indian golfer SSP Chawarasia has vowed to put up his best show in the remaining two rounds of the Men's Individual Stroke Play event in his bid to clinch a medal at the Rio Olympics.

"Honestly, I am feeling really good and proud because I am contributing something for India. And I am very happy to see one more sport getting its identity in Olympics. I am trying my best. Obviously everyone is here for the gold. I am also expecting gold. I could only give my best and that is what I will do. I am doing well from last couple of months. I am being positive. I will try my best to bring gold," Chawarasia told ANI.

Chawrasia posted four bogeys and four birdies to finish the day two of the men's individual stroke play at even-par and round two tied at 30th place here at Olympic Golf Course last evening.

Meanwhile, Anirban Lahiri, the other golfer in fray, continued his disappointing show as he ended his day +2 over par to take his total to +5 over for the event at 51st place. He languishes dangerously close to the bottom of the table.

In spite of that, Chawarasia believes that Anirban would bounce back strongly in remaining two days.

"Actually he is playing really good. It depends every week is a different feel. He is right now +5 over. So there are two more days and I think, he can do it," he said.

The golf had made a return to the Summer Olympics after a 112-year hiatus.
