Veteran Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has reportedly admitted that he will consider retiring at the end of the current season.
Ferdinand only renewed his contract with United in May, amid suggestions that he is plotting a switch to the Major League Soccer (MLS).
However, Metro.co.uk reports that Ferdinand said that he would consider quitting football altogether at the end of the campaign, although he added that he hopes to finish the season properly as he said that same thing last season too.
Ferdinand said that he would re-evaluate his decision at the end of the season.
The report mentioned that Ferdinand's decision on whether to retire or not could be influenced by the rise of his off-field businesses, such as his '5' brand, which features a magazine and clothing range.
The defender is also keen on becoming a full-time pundit, having recently signed up to work with BT Sport, the report added.
