Rihanna's inking artist has revealed about the creative process behind the pop star's henna-inspired hand art.

The 24-year-old celebrity tattoo artist Cally-Jo Pothecary, who has only been inking for 3 years but has gained a host of celebrity fans after she started posting her unique designs on Instagram, said that the 26-year-old singer had been following her on Instagram, for probably about a year and a half, the Daily Star reported.

The artist added that she was in New York on vacation and the 'Diamonds' singer, who was in the Dominican, wanted to get a cover up tattoo on her right hand so she and her colleagues got flown out to the Dominican.

Pothecary further added that Rihanna, who wanted the new tatt to cover up a tribal inking she had done in New Zealand, had a rough idea but she wanted something henna-inspired and pretty and so they worked with her ideas and came up with the design.

Pothecary continued that it was pressuring knowing it was gonna be the most difficult tattoo she has ever done because it was a style that she doesn't usually work in as well and it's a difficult area to tattoo and so lots of different elements added to the pressure.

However, Pothecary managed to complete the ink work without any damage and Rihanna was delighted with the results.
