Hinting at the fate of Archie Andrews following the season-2 cliffhanger, the first trailer for the upcoming third season of CW's Archie Comics drama 'Riverdale' was released at San Diego Comic-Con 2018.
The finale of Riverdale season 2 had ended with Andrews being wrongly arrested for a murder he did not commit. The season 3 trailer reveals that the season will cover the character's trial.
The trailer features Archie, Veronica (Camila Mendes), Betty (Lili Reinhart) and Jughead (Cole Sprouse) trying to have the "best Labor Day Weekend ever" after the "worst summer."
Earlier, during the show's Comic-con panel, it was revealed that the Golden Globe nominee Penelope Ann Miller would join the show in the upcoming season three.
Miller's character is being discussed as one that has a tinge of grey, but makers said she will not be seen playing a villain on the show.
The third season will be aired in October.
