Two Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) MLA's on Wednesday removed their shirt during an assembly session to protest against the Samajwadi Party led Uttar Pradesh Government.

Reportedly, RLD MLA's Suresh Sharma and Veer Pal Rathi removed their shirts as the state governor B L Joshi was addressing the assembly.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) too joined the RLD in its protest against the Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav's government.

The legislators were seen shouting slogans and held posters that called for the removal of the Samajwadi Party (SP) ruling government for having failed to address the problems of sugarcane farmers in the province.

Senior BSP leader Naseemuddin Siddiqui accused the SP government of being hand in glove with sugar mill owners and not paying sugarcane farmers their due amount.

"The farmers are forced to burn their sugarcane in the fields, which is a product of their sweat and labour, because the Samajwadi Party is hand in glove with sugar mill owners as they have taken thousands and crores from them. The government has not given the farmers the sugarcane prices and in fact, paid them less than what their sugarcanes are priced at. It is even less than what it was last year," he said.

He claimed that it has been two years, since the SP government took over and law and order situation in the province is just out of control.

With the scenario becoming extremely chaotic, the governor had to depart from the assembly.

Meanwhile SP leader Azam Khan took a dig at the legislators who went shirtless saying that they did so to seek international fame.

"The incident that you witnessed where a legislator took off his shirt, was a little incomplete. Had he removed all his clothes, we would have got to know about his manhood. Whatever he did was incomplete. We were waiting for him to get international fame had he removed all his clothes," he said.
