Rod Stewart fearing injury ahead of his upcoming UK tour has hung up his football boots.
The 69-year-old singer said that he wants to be on top form to impress fans this summer, the Mirror reported.
Stewart went out on a high when his Sunday League side in Los Angeles, USA, finished fourth in the table following a triumphant 3-2 win.
He said that football was beginning to impinge on his work playing on a Sunday, then having to go and play a concert at Vegas in the evening.
Stewart said that he had a great run and has played all my life.
He said that the boys gave him a good send-off, adding that he was now assistant coach to the assistant coach.
