Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has said that Manchester City are still favourites for the Premier League, despite overtaking them in the league table with a 2-1 Sunderland win.

Rodgers said that Liverpool will keep working hard, as it is upto other teams to lose, but added that he is not playing it down because if City win their games, they will win the league title.

According to the BBC, Liverpool overtook City in the league rankings with their recent 2-1 Sunderland win and are now just one point behind leaders Chelsea.

However, City, who are three points behind leaders Chelsea in the league table, have two games in hand and Rodgers feels that their rivals may win the title if City wins their games, the report added.
