Rodgers says Suarez would not be main man for Liverpool after return from suspension

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has warned that Luis Suarez would no longer be the main man at the club when he returns from suspension, as the team was not a place where one could exert egos.

According to Metro.co.uk, the Uruguayan, who is serving a 10-match ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic, has seen Daniel Sturridge take the plaudits so far this season, scoring the winner in each of Liverpool's opening three games.

This is in stark contrast to last season, where Suarez carried the Reds' main goal threat, but Rodgers insists there are no 'stars' in his new-look Liverpool side, the report said.

Rodgers said that neither Suarez, nor Sturridge would be the main man, as it was a club where players get told where to play.

He said that if the players want to be superstars, they could go elsewhere because Liverpool was about the team.
