Haryana Police on Monday arrested eight people from Gaddi Kheri Village in connection with the brutal rape and murder of a 28-year old Nepalese woman in Rohtak.
Director General of Police (DGP) Y.P. Singhal said that one of the arrested persons is from Nepal.
"We have successfully solved the case of the gang rape and murder of a Nepalese woman. We have arrested eight out of the nine accused in this case. Further investigations are on and I assure you that the culprits will be brought to justice. One of the eight persons arrested is of Nepalese origin," Singhal told mediapersons.
The case refers to the brutal assault of a 28-year-old mentally challenged woman in the Bahu Akbarpur area of the Rohtak district in Haryana. The woman's body was found on Wednesday, three days after she went missing, with key organs missing and with sticks, stones and condoms stuffed into her private parts.
The Haryana police had earlier announced a cash reward of Rs one lakh for information leading to the arrest of accused.
