As per an official announcement in the London Gazette, Britain's Queen Elizabeth has stripped veteran entertainer Rolf Harris of the CBE honour she bestowed on him in 2006.
The 84-year-old entertainer, who was jailed in July for five years and nine months for 12 indecent assaults on four girls aged from seven or eight to 19, between 1968 and 1986, has already lost a Bafta fellowship and accolades in his native Australia, the BBC reported.
The announcement states that the Queen has directed that the appointment of Rolf Harris to be a Commander of the Civil Division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, dated 17 June 2006, shall be cancelled and annulled and that his name shall be erased from the Register of the said Order.
Harris was found guilty of all 12 indecent assaults on a young autograph hunter, two girls in their early teens and a friend of his daughter, of which he was accused in his trial at Southwark Crown Court in London.
