Italian football club A.S. Roma owner James Pallotta has insisted that their midfielder Kevin Strootman would not be sold to Premier League side Manchester United.
The Dutch midfielder has been linked with move to Old Trafford in January next year and join up with former Netherlands boss Louis Van Gaal.
However, Roma's billionaire owner, while talking at the Leaders in Football Conference, shunned all such notions, saying that it is not just happening, The BBC reported.
Pallotta said that he has told the papers that they should stop wasting paper, adding that they don't have any interest in selling Strootman, who is currently recovering from the knee injury he sustained in March which forced him to miss the 2014 World Cup.
Pallotta also hinted that although United had made an inquiry for Strootman, even a bid of 75 million pounds would not tempt Roma to sell the player. He added that obviously as business people when people call them and say that they want their player they are going to listen to them.
Pallotta said that one has to do that, that is the business side, and added that that doesn't mean one is going to make a decision that an offer of 75 million pounds and they hit the bid. He said that that is not the way it is going to work and it is not the way it works with Roma.
The Roma owner added a greater money bid might talk for others, maybe. He said that their view is that they want to put a great team out there, but added that they are not saying that they have to make a ton of money.
Pallotta said that their goal across the board is stability.
