Mitt Romney has said the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal would not be an issue if former secretary of state Hillary Clinton runs for president again.

Senator Rand Paul has pressed the issue, suggesting Americans should think twice about putting Bill Clinton in the White House again as the spouse of a president, the Washington Post reports.

However, Romney said on NBC's 'Meet the Press' that Hillary will be judged on her own merits.

Romney said Hillary Clinton will be judged upon her merits and not the record of her husband.

The 2012 GOP presidential candidate Bill Clinton had 'embarrassed' the nation with his behaviour.
