Following a goalless first-half, the Portuguese superstar put the visitors ahead in the 57th minute with a deflected finish before substitute Jese added the Spanish giants' second goal four minutes from full-time, the Guardian reported.

Ronaldo had been struggling to find the nets in his last four away games since his goal against Eibar on November 29. However, the star forward shrugged signs of fallibility with his 12th Champions League goal of the season.

Both the sides will face against each other in the second-leg tie at the Bernabeu on 8 March.
