Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has apparently knocked out during a boxing bout with his friend, Stoke City defender Phil Bardsley, during a booze-filled boys night in at the England football team captain's mansion.
The England and United captain was sparing with Bardsley when he reportedly appears to have been knocked unconscious. The pair were messing around in the kitchen of Rooney's 3.5 million pounds Cheshire mansion last month when the incident took place.
Another friend filmed the fight which is believed to have started off playfully but then got out of hand according to the un-named pal, The Mirror reported.
After putting on boxing gloves and exchanging punches the video shows Rooney knocked to the floor where he lies on his back with his eyes closed for several seconds before filming is halted.
The friend, who filmed the bout, said that Rooney had everybody worried when he hit the floor like that, adding that the skipper made such a thud when he went down. He claimed that people were scared that the striker had really banged his head and done some lasting damage.
The is reportedly seen lying on his back with his head under a chair and appears to be out cold after taking a heavy punch.
Rooney and Bardsley are former United teammates until the latter left Old Trafford for Sunderland in 2008, the report added.
