New Manchester United manager David Moyes has told the world's media that striker Wayne Rooney is not for sale, speaking formally for the first time since his selection as the successor to Alex Ferguson.
According to sport24, Moyes said that he had spoken to Rooney since he returned for pre-season training on Wednesday but did not exactly reveal what was said during their conversations, along with going on to claim that Wayne was a Manchester United player and would remain a Manchester United player.
However, the report added that there was no confirmation from the manager about the England international declaring an intention to stay but he was training well and coming back into good shape, with Moyes looking forward to work with him.
Meanwhile, United captain Nemanja Vidic said that Rooney was in his best shape since the last five years.
