Former Bond girl Rosamund Pike, has landed the much sought after role of the female lead in the film version of the hit novel Gone Girl.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Pike will play the role of Amy, a wife who goes missing on her fifth wedding anniversary, the BBC reported.
Pike beat Emily Blunt, Jessica Chastain, Natalie Portman and Charlize Theron for the role opposite Ben Affleck in David Fincher's film of Gillian Flynn's best-selling thriller.
The 34-year-old is currently a part of British comedy 'The World's End'.
