Mercedes' Nico Rosberg emerged as the fastest driver at the second practice session for this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix on Saturday.
Rosberg, who failed to stop his Mercedes team-mate Lewis Hamilton from clinching his third world title at the US Grand Prix, was 0.430 seconds quicker than the Russian rival Kvyat.
Meanwhile, Australian Daniel Ricciardo finished third ahead of Mercedes' Lewis Hamiltion, Sport24 reported.
Four-time champion Sebastian Vettel and his Ferrari team-mate Kimi Raikkonen finished at fourth and fifth place respectively.
Earlier, Toro Rosso teenager Max Verstappen topped the opening practice session by finishing 0.305 quicker than Russian Daniil Kvyat of Red Bull.
