Ranbir Kapoor, Jacqueline Fernandez and Arjun Rampal starrer film 'Roy' stole the show at Pakistani box office, despite the ongoing ICC Cricket World Cup.
The romantic-thriller, which is the debut effort of director Vikramjit Singh and revolves around the life of filmmakers Ayesha Aamir, played by Fernandez, and Kabir Grewal (Rampal), enjoyed a successful opening in Pakistani cinemas, and even beat 'PK's opening-day collection of Rs1.05 crore, by scooping around Rs1.25 crore on its first day the Express Tribune reported.
While there were doubts surrounding the film's box-office collections as it was being released during the opening weekend of the World Cup, but it clearly didn't affect the earnings.
As per Abid Ali Zaidi, assistant marketing manager at Cinepax Cinemas, the film had a "tremendous" opening two days where 3,000 people showed up at the screening of the movie at Cinepax Ocean Mall alone.
However, cinema owner Nadeem Mandviwalla revealed that though the film managed to score high on box-office collections, the reports about the film were not very good.
