Rebuffing the allegations levelled against his government concerning the election of the BJP-backed media baron Subhash Chandra to the Rajya Sabha, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Tuesday said everything is transparent in democracy, adding that all MLAs had cast their votes as per their wishes.
"Everything is transparent in democracy. All MLAs had cast their votes as per their wishes," he told reporters on the sidelines of his visit to the three-day Panchkula Yoga Camp.
When told that his government along with Subhash Chandra had hijacked MLAs and kidnapped one of MLAs for 3-4 days and many others were lured into voting for Chandra, Khattar said, "The people who loose elections indulge in useless talks. There is a famous say 'Khisiyani Billi Khambha Noche'. They must learn to digest their defeats."
Chandra won the second seat in a contest "marred by cross-voting" with 14 votes of the Congress being rejected.
He defeated INLD and the Congress backed-Independent candidate R.K. Anand.
