Union Ministers Venkaiah Naidu and Rajiv Pratap Rudy will represent the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led Union Government at the swearing-in ceremony of Bihar Chief Minister designate Nitish Kumar on November 20.
Nitish has invited several prominent leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi to his oath taking ceremony, which will be held in Patna's Gandhi Maidan.
Reports say that the Prime Minister is not likely to attend the event due to 'prior engagements'.
The Prime Minister had earlier congratulated Nitish on the day of the poll results on November 8 after the grand alliance (Mahagathbandhan) secured a massive victory in Bihar Assembly elections.
Yesterday, the National Conference (NC) had confirmed that their president and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah will be attending Nitish's oath-taking ceremony.
Nitish was on Saturday elected as the legislature party Leader of the Mahagathbandhan, which comprises of the Janata Dal (United), the Rashtriya Janata Dal and the Congress Party.
Nitish had also submitted his resignation to Governor Ramnath Kovind after the cabinet decided to recommend the dissolution of the outgoing assembly.
