Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev has said that Western airlines may be banned from flying in Russian airspace as a response to European Union sanctions over Ukraine crisis.
Medvedev called the sanctions 'stupid' and blamed the western countries for damaging its economy.
The Prime Minister also said that Russia would reduce its reliance on imports, reported the Independent.
Russia had been extremely tolerant towards Western countries' actions since the cold war and it should have responded to U.S. and EU sanctions immediately, said Medvedev.
He added that Russia would only allow 'friendly countries' to fly in its airspace.
