North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un is set to make his first foreign trip post assuming office in 2011 as he accepted an invitation from Russia to attend ceremonies in May marking the 70th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany, a report said.

Jong-un is one of the several foreign leaders who have confirmed their attendance, reported Sky News.

Dmitry Peskov, a spokesman for President Vladimir Putin, confirmed the leader's participation and said that they were preparing for his arrival.

Jong-un's failure to make any public appearances last year had fuelled speculations about his health.

The leader is believed to have last left his country when he accompanied his father Kim Jong-il on a visit to China in 2010.
