Russian FM Lavrov calls Sushma Swaraj, thanks for assistance provided to Russians injured in bus mishap

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has called External Affairs Minister, Sushma Swaraj today, and thanked her for assistance provided to Russians tourists involved in a bus accident in Uttarakhand.

Earlier, today the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) got involved itself rescuing injured Russians affected due to the Uttarakhand bus accident incident that killed two and injured ten.

The MEA has said that five of those who are seriously injured are being airlifted to Delhi from Dehradun. It also said that it is providing all assistance to Russian tourists, belonging largely to ISKCON.

Yesterday a mini-tempo traveler carrying twelve Russian tourists plunged into river Bhagirathi leaving two Russian tourists dead.

 

Ten tourists including the bus driver were injured while one tourist was swept away by the river, following the accident.
