Ruth Wilson has voiced her concerns about the "unfair" treatment of actresses during sex scenes as it is always the woman who's "orgasming."

The 33-year-old actress said in an interview that in 'The Affair,' there has to be sex scenes, which is a major part of the relationship, but it was about making it as interesting and important as the rest of it, Net-a-Porter Magazine reported.

The 'Jane Eyre' star said that she argues all the time that these scenes need to be real and they need to have a narrative as much as any other scene and so they can't be purely titillation as they need to move the story forward and the characters forward.

Wilson added that she has a big concern about how women are treated in the industry generally and how they have to provide the titillation because penises can't be seen on screen but breasts can.

She continued that it's assumed that women will and have to get their breasts out and she balks at that as it's unnecessary and it's unfair.

Wilson, who won the Best Actress in a TV series award at the Golden Globes, revealed that she kept insisting, "Why have I always got to do the orgasm face?" as there should be a male orgasm face as well, implying that people aren't thinking about it more.
