S.African diplomat urges students to use sports to lead healthy lives

A senior diplomat of the High Commission of South Africa encouraged students of a school here to use the medium of sports and other forms of physical activity to lead healthy lives and ensure a good future for themselves.

Lorna Daniels, Political Counsellor at the South Africa High Commission, and other guests invited to the event, also talked about the importance of conserving nature, promoting hygiene and eating healthy food.

Students of the Deep Public School displayed their athletic prowess at various events. Primary wing students demonstrated useful yoga asanas, which were followed by hoopla, pompom and dumb bell drills.

The highlight of the day was a display of Taekwondo, combining combat with sports and exercise.

 

Dance forms of North, South, East and West India added to the fun and festivities.

Daniels and other guests then distributed prizes to students wh had excelled in various events.

The school's principal delivered a vote of thanks.

Dr. Amit Gupta, spokesperson of AIIMS also graced the occasion.
