Pitching for a corruption-free government, Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena promised to completely eradicate bribery and corruption from state institutions and other sectors.
He said grave actions will be taken by the government to abolish all kind of frauds possible.
Sirisena said that no one will be spared from legal actions against bribery and corruption, Colombo Page reported.
While addressing the International Family Health Services Day Ceremony held at Polonnaruwa Royal College on Saturday, President Sirisena gave these pledges.
During his three years as President, he took measures without any discrimination to prevent bribery, fraud, corruption, and misuse of state property, he recalled.
This comes two days after President Sirisena ordered a suspension of a senior official of the Presidential Secretariat and a Chairman of a State corporation on the charges of alleged bribery.
