Saharanpur curfew relaxed for six hours

Saharanpur District Magistrate Sandhya Tiwari and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Saharanpur, Rajesh Kumar Pandey said on Thursday that the city curfew has been relaxed for six hours in the whole city. They are expecting a incident free day ahead.

SSP said, "Special security arrangements have been made for today, as the curfew has been relaxed for six hours in the whole city. We are hopeful that even today situation will also be incident free. If the day passes without any incident today, may be then we can think of extending it further."

"We have arrested the major culprits of this whole incident yesterday. Enquiry will be made against whosoever is responsible for this," he added.

 

DM Sandhya Tiwari said, "Today's relaxation in curfew is from ten to six, in the whole city. After considering the day's situation, I will take decision in the evening about tomorrow."

"The people marked responsible for disturbance in the city are being continuously arrested, in large numbers. People are also satisfied with it," she added.

Violence erupted in Saharanpur on Saturday morning after two groups reportedly clashed over a patch of disputed land close to the city's railway station, after which curfew was imposed all over the city.

From last three days, the curfew has been relaxed in parts of the city for selected few hours.
