American sailboat racing group Oracle Team USA overtook their Kiwi counterparts Emirates Team New Zealand on Tuesday to win their seventh straight race and even the finale in the longest America's Cup ever.

Oracle, which was almost defeated a week ago, tied 8-8 with New Zealand on the scoreboard by winning its tenth race overall, although it was penalised two points for illegally modifying boats in warm-up regattas.

According to CBS News, the epic 19th race is scheduled for Wednesday on San Francisco Bay, with Oracle either finishing one of the greatest comebacks in history of the sport or New Zealand winning to claim the trophy for the second time in 18 years.

With the two victories on Tuesday, Oracle Team USA has won for the ninth time in 13 races, the report added.
