West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce has advised recently sacked Manchester United manager David Moyes to take a break from the sport and not rush back straight into managing another football club this summer so that the Scot may reclaim his reputation.

Moyes, who has been in uninterrupted employment in football since beginning his youth team career in Iceland in 1978 at the age of 15, has been linked with a number of Premier League jobs that may become vacant in the summer immediately following his sacking by the United board.

However, Allardyce has advised the Scot to take this opportunity to relax a bit and give time to his reputation to build up again, the Daily Express reported.

Allardyce, who took a year off after getting sacked by Newcastle in January 2008 before resuming his career at Blackburn in December of the same year, said that he would not advise Moyes to come back into the game sooner, adding that he would have come back later if he would have been in the Scot's place.

Allardyce advised Moyes, who is out of work for the first time in 36 years, to take some time with his family and reflect and enjoy life a little bit more without the pressures, particularly the Premier League football, as that would do the Scot the world of good and then, when he emerges again, he would come back a better manager than he already has been.

Allardyce also said that Moyes has been 'one hell' of a manger

Meanwhile, Allardyce is also disappointed with the way United sacked Moyes and said that for a club as large as they, the process looked like it had been flawed which is a great shame.

Allardyce furthter said that if Moyes knew his fate before even being told then it is a great shame for the Scot as well as United to choose to use that process of sacking the former Everton boss, the report added.
