Sam Smith has revealed that he suffered through bullying for being gay while growing up.
The 22-year-old singer said that he wasn't talking about his sexuality openly in 2014 but now, as he has sold many albums and was in powerful position to raise his voice, People Magazine reported.
Smith further mentioned that he was getting bullied even before coming out as gay at 11 years old, boys would come up to him and ask if he was gay, and when he replied "no," it would rile them up even more.
Smith was lucky because none of it has damaged him because his parents were amazing, but there was only so much advice they could give.
