Sri Lanka's top-order batsman Kumar Sangakkara has reportedly revealed that he will retire from Twenty20 internationals after the ongoing World T20 in Bangladesh.

Sangakkara said that this would definitely without a doubt be his last World T20 but it is not the end of his T20 career as he would like to place 'franchise-based T20s.

According to the Dawn, Sangakkara further said that once a cricketer's World Cup prospects are over, they should give the next 'crop' of players an opportunity to play

Sangakkarra, who spearheaded Sri Lanka to the World Twenty20 finals in 2009 in England, has played 50 T20 internationals, scoring 1,311 runs at an average of 32.77 with seven half-centuries.
