Indian women's tennis star Sania Mirza cruised to the 25th doubles final of her career as she and partner Jie Zheng, of China, defeated the Spanish pairing of Silvia Soler-Espinosa and Carla Suarez Navarro 6-3, 6-3 in the WTA New Haven Open at Yale.
According to tennisworldusa.org, Mirza started playing with Jie Zheng after Wimbledon when her regular partner Bethanie Mattek-Sands decided to give up on doubles to focus on singles.
In the finals, they will meet the winner of Friday's second semi-final between fourth seeds Liezel Huber/ Nuria Llagostera Vives and Anabel Medina Garrigues/ Katrina Srebotnik, the report said.
Mirza and Zheng will also play the US Open next week together, the report added.
