Alaskans really want to smoke pot and not be caught, and Santa Claus has just showed up to give weight to their case.
Back in November, people had voted in favour of legalising marijuana, but it was still upon individual towns to decide if cannabis for any adult of at least 21-years of age would be legal, reports the People magazine.
When the North Pole city council met to take a decision on the matter, a North Pole resident whose official name is Santa Claus, showed up to make his point.
Claus said that he was a medical marijuana patient, and hence, would love to have easy access to it, instead of travelling to Fairbanks to buy it.
Eventually, an order to ban marijuana dispensaries by Councilwoman Sharron Hunter was voted down, 5-2.
