Pakistani spin bowling legend Saqlain Mushtaq has said that players should move on accept the current rules of the ICC regarding 15 degrees of permissible straightening of the elbow joint for all bowlers in international cricket.
Widely regarded as the inventor of the famed 'doosra' delivery, Mushtaq is considered as one of the greatest spin bowlers and was the first off-spinner to consistently utilise the doosra which formed a key part of his armoury in both Tests and ODIs.
According to www.pakpassion.net, Mushtaq advised all the bowlers to accept the ICC's 15-degree bowling rules as he believes the world cricket governing body must have put a lot of thought before taking the decision, although he feels critics should focus more on the bowlers' skills instead of going after bowling actions.
Stating that a player should abide by every rule put down by the ICC, Mushtaq also insisted that he has no problems with the current bowling rules as put down by the ICC, although he is not in favour of rules like batsmen can only wear one pad, or not wearing a sweater while fielding.
